Kathmandu University (KU) of Nepal and Siam University of Thailand have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote glaciology studies among Thai students in Nepal.

The agreement was formalized following a bilateral meeting between Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his Thai counterpart, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, during Oli’s official visit to Thailand—the first by a Nepali prime minister since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

KU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Achyut Wagle and Siam University President Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit signed the MoU, which aims to facilitate academic collaboration and encourage Thai students to pursue higher education in Nepal.

According to Dr. Wagle, the agreement will open opportunities for Thai students to study not only glaciology but also traditional architecture and environmental science at Kathmandu University.
