Business Groups Condemn Violence, Demand Compensation for Losses

Kathmandu, March 29: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Federation of Nepali Industry and Entrepreneurship have strongly condemned the violent incidents that occurred in Tinkune on Friday, demanding appropriate compensation for the damages caused.

In separate press releases, both organizations called for strict action against those responsible for the violence. While acknowledging that everyone has the right to organize and participate in peaceful demonstrations to voice their demands, they emphasized that such actions should not infringe upon the rights of citizens and businesses to operate freely.

The business groups expressed serious concern over the attacks on both private and public property, as well as the incidents of looting and arson.

"The looting, arson, and attacks on private property, along with the loss of human life, are completely condemnable," stated the FNCCI.

Similarly, the other federation called on all concerned parties to create a free and fair environment for business operations. It condemned the criminal activities that took place in Tinkune and Koteshwor on Friday.

Both organizations underscored that business entities should not be targeted, nor should industrialists face attacks, as such actions undermine the national economy.

They jointly urged the government to take immediate and stringent action against those involved in the violence. Furthermore, the Federation appealed to all industrialists and entrepreneurs to unite in protecting and strengthening the republic.
