Fire at Singha Durbar: Key Ministry Documents Secure, Probe Ongoing

Kathmandu, Feb 9: The Ministry of Water Supply has confirmed that essential and critical documents remain intact following a fire at the ministry's office in Singha Durbar on Saturday.
In a press release issued by Under-Secretary Bhaktaraj Joshi, it was clarified that the blaze did not affect key ministry documents. The fire incident prompted an immediate inspection by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka, and Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav, along with senior ministry officials and security agency heads.
Thanks to the prompt response of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, ministry staff, and fire engines, the fire was brought under control within approximately 15 minutes. The statement further mentioned that an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
