Rukum Paschim Farmers Sell 4 Metric Tons of Honey in Six Months

Triveni (Rukum Paschim), Feb 4: Beekeepers in Rukum Paschim have sold four metric tons of honey over the past six months, generating an impressive revenue of Rs 4 million, according to Lal Bahadur Bhandari, Information Officer at the District Agriculture Office.
The honey is sold at prices ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,200 per kilogram. Banphikot Rural Municipality and Athbiskot Municipality are the highest producers, followed by Sanibheri and Triveni rural municipalities, as well as Musikot and Chaurajahari municipalities.
Approximately 200 farmers in the district are engaged in beekeeping, with 150 operating as commercial beekeepers.
The honey produced is sold locally and also distributed to major markets, including Surkhet, Dang, and Kathmandu.
