Kathmandu, Jan 18: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has advised the public to take necessary precautions as fog and mist, influenced by westerly winds, have affected the Tarai region and parts of the Kathmandu Valley.

The thick fog may disrupt daily life, agriculture, health, transportation, and flight operations. According to the Division, Sudurpaschim Province is currently experiencing partly to generally cloudy conditions, while the weather remains mostly clear in other parts of the country.

This afternoon, mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces are expected to witness partly to generally cloudy weather. Similarly, hilly areas may also see increased cloud cover. The Division has further predicted a chance of light snowfall at one or two locations in the mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces later tonight.
