KMC Declares Mourning Holiday Following Demise of Former Mayor PL Singh
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has announced a holiday today to mourn the demise of former Mayor PL Singh. Singh, aged 87, passed away this morning while undergoing treatment.
KMC Assistant Spokesperson Dhruba Kumar Kafle informed that all non-essential services of the central office and ward offices will remain closed today in honor of the late mayor.
PL Singh, a significant figure in the city's history, played a pivotal role in declaring Kathmandu as a metropolitan city in 2052 BS. His contributions to the development and transformation of the capital have been widely recognized and appreciated.
Singh's passing marks the end of an era for Kathmandu's municipal leadership. The KMC and residents of the city are mourning the loss of a leader who dedicated his life to the betterment of the capital.
