PM Oli Highlights Buddha's Teachings as Path to Peace and Prosperity
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the development and promotion of Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, as a global symbol of peace and spirituality.
Lumbini, Nov 29: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called upon individuals to embrace the teachings and philosophy of Gautam Buddha, emphasizing their relevance to fostering peace, compassion, and prosperity.
Speaking at the 3rd Special Convocation and 20th Anniversary Celebration of Lumbini Buddhist University, Oli, the university's Chancellor, highlighted the alignment of Buddha’s message with the national vision of a "Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali."
Promoting Peace and Compassion
Prime Minister Oli underscored the importance of human virtues such as peace, compassion, and love, which he described as the essence of Buddhist philosophy. “Hatred breeds hatred, unrest leads to chaos, and enmity fosters enmity,” Oli remarked, adding, “Love brings love, peace fosters peace, and goodness multiplies goodness. We must all live by these virtues to create a harmonious society.”
Celebrating Achievements
Oli extended congratulations to students and parents for their dedication, investment, and hard work. He urged graduates to become ambassadors of Buddhist teachings in their communities, spreading its principles of kindness and understanding.
