The birthplace of King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the then-ruler, located in Gorkha, is known as the Lower Gorkha Palace. It has now been converted into the Gorkha Museum. The Gorkha Palace is divided into two sections: the Upper Palace and this Lower Palace.
