At Least 130 Killed in Gaza by Israeli Forces in 48 Hours: Health Authorities

At least 130 Palestinians have been killed and 263 others injured in Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip over the past 48 hours, according to health authorities in Gaza on Saturday.

The latest casualties bring the total death toll in the enclave to 49,747, with 113,213 injured since the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in early October 2023, the authorities reported.

The statement further noted that numerous victims remain trapped beneath the rubble or stranded in the streets, where ambulances and civil defense teams have been unable to reach them due to ongoing hostilities and infrastructural devastation.

In a separate appeal, health authorities urged Gaza residents to donate blood by visiting the few hospitals still operational in the besieged territory.

Israeli forces resumed airstrikes on Gaza last Tuesday, following the breakdown of a ceasefire agreement with Hamas that had been in place since January 19. Ground operations have since expanded across southern, northern, and central parts of the Gaza Strip.
