23 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Airstrikes Across Gaza

At least 23 Palestinians, including children and women, were killed on Sunday as Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple locations across the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian official news agency WAFA.

Nine people, including three children and two women, lost their lives in an airstrike on the Musa bin Nusayr School in Gaza City, which housed displaced residents in the Al-Daraj neighborhood. Several others sustained injuries, WAFA reported.

Another strike on a vehicle in Al-Jalaa Street, Gaza City, killed four people, while five individuals, including four children, were killed in shelling in the northern town of Jabalia. In the southern Gaza Strip, two people died in a bombing west of Khan Yunis, and three others were killed in Rafah, WAFA stated.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed responsibility for the strikes, describing them as "precise" and aimed at Hamas militants operating from a command-and-control center in Gaza. According to the IDF, the facility, embedded in a compound that previously served as the Musa bin Nusayr School, was used to plan and execute attacks on Israeli forces and civilians.

The airstrikes are part of a broader Israeli offensive against Hamas, following the militant group's deadly October 7, 2023, rampage across southern Israel. The attack left approximately 1,200 Israelis dead and around 250 taken hostage.

Gaza's health authorities report that the Palestinian death toll from Israeli attacks has risen to 45,227 since the conflict began. The situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate amid intense bombardments and widespread destruction.
