Prachanda Reaffirms Commitment to Madhesi Rights and Development


CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has reiterated his party’s commitment to securing the rights of oppressed communities, including the Madhesi people.

Speaking at the ‘Maoist with Public: Terai-Madhes Awareness Campaign’ held in Soniga, Hansapur Municipality of Dhanusha district on Sunday, Prachanda emphasized his party’s priority on the development of Madhes.

He highlighted the Maoist Centre’s role in the formation of the Madhesi National Liberation Front and in the implementation of federalism and inclusiveness, aimed at ensuring the region's overall progress. He further assured that his party remains dedicated to addressing the demands of the Madhesi people.

Prachanda also pledged to push for the early completion of the Postal Highway, a crucial infrastructure project for the region’s development. Additionally, he expressed support for the locals' demand for the swift construction of the Kamala Bridge, affirming his party’s positive stance on the issue.

He noted that the Maoist Centre is currently conducting a ‘door-to-door’ campaign to directly engage with the people and understand their concerns.

On the occasion, party leader Matrika Prasad Yadav reaffirmed the Maoist Centre’s unwavering commitment to the Madhesi cause, vowing to remain honest in addressing the community’s issues.
