Private Sector Leads Employment Generation in Nepal: Minister Bhandari
Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari, emphasized that the private sector serves as the primary source of employment in Nepal.
Speaking at an interaction program organized by the National Vocational Training Academy in Bhaisepati, Minister Bhandari highlighted the crucial role of private enterprises in job creation. The event, held under the theme "Our Commitment for Skill Development: Ensuring a Prosperous Nation," aimed to foster employment opportunities through skill development initiatives.
"The government does not create jobs directly; it provides the necessary facilitation. Globally, the private sector is the major employer, and Nepal is no exception," Minister Bhandari remarked.
He also announced the establishment of a Domestic Employment Division under the Ministry, aimed at enhancing employment opportunities within the country. "This division will focus on making domestic employment more viable and advancing the sector's development," he added.
The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with stakeholders and leveraging skill development for economic growth and prosperity.
