At least 12 people tragically lost their lives when the vehicle they were traveling in plunged into a well in the Mandsaur area of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. The victims were on their way to a temple when the accident occurred.

Reports indicate that the vehicle collided with a bike before veering off course and falling into the well. The biker, who was involved in the collision, died instantly. Additionally, one person who attempted to rescue the occupants by jumping into the well also died.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences over the tragic incident and announced a financial compensation of 200,000 Indian Rupees (approximately 2,343 U.S. dollars) to the families of the deceased.
