Trump Issues Ultimatum to Hamas, Threatens Further Destruction of Gaza

US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Hamas, threatening severe consequences if all remaining hostages are not released and urging the militant group's leaders to flee Gaza. Speaking strongly in support of Israel, Trump stated, "Release all of the hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you."

Trump emphasized that his administration is fully backing Israel's efforts, pledging to send "everything Israel needs to finish the job" as the situation in Gaza continues to intensify. He also made a direct appeal to the people of Gaza, stating, "A beautiful future awaits, but not if you hold hostages. If you do, you are DEAD!"

These comments come as Israel's military continues its relentless operations in Gaza, following Hamas's deadly October 7 attacks. The ceasefire reached a breaking point over the weekend after six weeks of tentative peace, leading to increased tensions as Israel demands the full return of hostages.

In parallel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also warned Hamas of severe consequences if they fail to comply with Israel’s demands. Netanyahu stated, "If Hamas does not hand over the remaining hostages, there will be consequences that you cannot imagine."

While Israel continues to press its military advantage, the United States has confirmed unprecedented direct talks with Hamas concerning hostages, despite a long-standing policy of non-engagement with the group. The talks are being led by the US envoy on hostage affairs, Adam Boehler.

As international pressure mounts, France, Britain, and Germany have called the humanitarian crisis in Gaza "catastrophic," urging Israel to allow unhindered aid deliveries. South Africa has condemned Israel's actions, accusing it of using starvation as a weapon of war.

The ongoing conflict has left thousands dead, with more than 48,000 people killed in Gaza since Israel began its military response, most of them civilians. Five American hostages are still believed to be in Gaza, with four confirmed dead and one believed to be alive.
