Six militants were killed in an intense firefight with security forces in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, according to a statement from the military.

The operation, which was based on intelligence, took place in the North Waziristan district following reports of militant activity in the area. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media arm of the Pakistani military, confirmed the deaths and revealed that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.

The militants had been actively involved in various attacks against security forces and were responsible for the deaths of civilians. In response, security forces have launched a comprehensive clearance operation to ensure the area is free of any remaining militants.
