RSF Kills 200+ Civilians in Brutal Village Assault

In a horrific escalation of violence, Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have killed more than 200 people, including women and children, in a three-day assault on villages in the country’s south, a legal monitoring group reported on Tuesday.
According to Emergency Lawyers, an organization documenting human rights abuses, RSF forces targeted unarmed civilians in Al-Kadaris and Al-Khelwat villages in White Nile state, despite no military presence in the area.
The group accused RSF of executions, kidnappings, enforced disappearances, and widespread looting of property. Many villagers attempting to flee across the Nile River were reportedly shot at, with some drowning in their desperate escape. The attack has left hundreds injured or missing, and the lawyers' group described it as an act of genocide.
Sudan's Ongoing Crisis
Sudan has been embroiled in a devastating war since April 2023, pitting army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan against his former deputy, RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Daglo. Both factions have been accused of war crimes and human rights violations.
The conflict has killed tens of thousands, displaced over 12 million people, and triggered what the International Rescue Committee has called the biggest humanitarian crisis ever recorded.
As violence continues to spiral, international calls for an end to the bloodshed and urgent humanitarian intervention are growing louder.
