The Seti Hydropower Project, located in Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality, Kaski, has officially started generating electricity for commercial use.
With a capacity of 25 megawatts, the project began power generation after completing necessary tests for the power plant, interconnection, and commissioning.
Jag Bahadur Pokharel, Chairman of the project company, said that the generated electricity has been successfully linked to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) system.
The power is being transmitted to the NEA through a substation located in Lahachowk village within the rural municipality.
The total investment for this run-of-the-river project has surpassed Rs 5 billion.
Water for the powerhouse at Chintebagar is supplied via a 6,400-meter-long underground pipeline, which carries it from the Seti River at the Bharabhari site in Sardhikhola.
