The Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project has distributed 12,600 apple seedlings to farmers across multiple municipalities in Dolpa district.

Six agricultural firms and cooperatives were selected through a proposal call and provided the saplings under a 50% grant to expand the district's apple zone.

According to Govinda Bahadur Malla, chief of the project implementation unit, the seedlings—comprising Golden, Royal, Red Delicious, and Red Richard varieties—were distributed to Thulibheri Municipality, Jagdulla Rural Municipality, and Wards 3 and 4 of Tripurasundari Municipality.

Malla highlighted that Dolpa's climate is highly suitable for apple and bean farming, making it an ideal location for the project's implementation. In addition to apple farming, a bean zone program is already in operation in Mudkechula and Kaike Rural Municipalities.
