The ward office building of Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality-6, located in Ashrang of Gorkha district, has been successfully reconstructed.

Ward Chairperson Ranjan Rimal stated that the original building, which was severely damaged by the devastating earthquake of April 25, 2015, has now been rebuilt.

According to him, the reconstruction was completed at a cost of over Rs 8.86 million, funded by the rural municipality. The new building comprises six rooms and two toilets.

Due to the lack of its own facility, the ward office had previously been operating from a building owned by a local women’s group.

The rural municipality had awarded the construction contract to Shiva Engineering Pvt. Ltd. in May 2023. Rimal mentioned that the project was completed after two deadline extensions. He added that the new building has significantly improved the delivery of public services.
